Virginia Commonwealth University Health System
VCU Health System is the only academic medical center in central Virginia and is the state’s regional referral center. It is the region’s only Level 1 Trauma Center and offers state-of-the-art care in more than 200 specialty areas, including organ transplantation, head and spinal cord trauma, burn healing and cancer treatment. The medical staff includes internationally recognized physicians, many of whom have been recognized among the best doctors in the country. Since 1838, the health system—formerly the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals—has been on the forefront of advances in health care, providing patients with some of the most progressive treatment and technology available.
