Norton Healthcare (Louisville, Kentucky)

In the late 1800s, the John N. Norton Memorial Infirmary opened in Louisville to serve the sick and injured. Started by a small Episcopal group, the hospital has remained dedicated to its faith-based values throughout its history. Today, Norton Healthcare includes five hospitals – Kosair Children's Hospital, Norton Brownsboro Hospital, Norton Hospital, Norton Suburban Hospital and Norton Audubon Hospital – 12 Norton Immediate Care Centers and 72 primary and specialty care physician offices. As the third-largest private employer in the area, Norton Healthcare treats thousands of patients every year. In 2011, Norton received the National Quality Forum’s (NQF’s) National Quality Healthcare Award for its exceptional organizational leadership and innovation to achieve quality improvement. The award recognizes Norton as a role model for achieving meaningful, sustainable improvements in patient care.
