Bergen Regional Medical Center

At 65-acres, Bergen Regional Medical Center (BRMC) is the largest hospital and the largest licensed nursing home in New Jersey. It provides acute care, long-term care and behavioral health services for the Tri-State area. BRMC treats a large number of mental health patients and has one of the largest psychiatric residency programs in the country. The hospital has a full-service emergency department, state-of-the-art operating suites, and 21 ambulatory specialty clinics enabling patients to see their doctor, complete lab work, and fill prescriptions at the same location. As the region’s safety net provider for the mentally impaired, elderly, and uninsured, BRMC provided $44.3 million in charity care in 2008.
