Join NAPH And Get Results

By joining the National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems (NAPH) you will work in unison with other key players in the industry to ensure that safety net hospitals and health systems continue to play a prominent role in America’s health care delivery system. As an NAPH member, you will have direct access to a host of benefits and services tailored specifically to safety net hospitals and health systems.

As the voice of the safety net, NAPH is your eyes and ears in Washington, DC, focusing on legislation that directly affects your hospital. A thought leader in health reform, safety net financing issues—with a particular focus on the future of the Medicaid program, NAPH is taking the necessary steps to help insure access to care for America’s medically underserved and uninsured population. The following tangible results represent just some of the achievements that NAPH advocacy has produced in recent years:

  • NAPH led the charge and was triumphant in staving off billions of dollars in proposed federal cuts to the Medicaid program that would have essentially destabilized the health care safety net.
  • Reduced the cost of pharmaceuticals dispensed at safety net hospitals through the 340B drug discount program.
  • Boosted quality improvement in member hospitals and systems, expanded health care coverage to uninsured populations, and bolstered a diminishing health care workforce.
  • Authored the original Medicaid and Medicare Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) programs.
