Health Information Technology

Previously, we profiled a number of NAPH members who had taken innovative steps in using health information technology (HIT) to improve quality and save money. Since then, HIT has become even more integral to health care providers as they transform their delivery systems and navigate health care reform. The Most Wired survey conducted by Hospitals & Health Networks measures the progress of hospitals and health systems as they implement HIT and work toward achieving meaningful use. In 2011, 11 NAPH members were named “most wired,” 1 member achieved “most wired – small and rural,” and 1 member made the “most improved” list. Read on to learn how these members have put HIT to work for them.
