According to the National Cancer Institute, advances in cancer research across the past decade have fundamentally changed the way we can think about cancer. This research suggests cancer is actually a collection of many diseases “representing a challenging biomedical puzzle,” not a single disease affecting different parts of the body. This complex puzzle means there are many ways to confront its different incarnations. To better care for diverse cancer patients, NAPH members are applying unique and varied strategies and demonstrating success.
