Part I - CEO and Board Member Forum on Preparing for Health Reform
One-day forum geared to CEOs and their board members on what safety net hospital systems need to do to prepare for health reform implementation. What does the future post-health reform hold for safety net hospitals? What will it take to keep you on a successful path? What type of organizational changes will be necessary to meet the challenges and opportunities in the new environment? Hear from experts and fellow CEOs and learn what will be needed to successfully position your organization to compete for patients. At the forum discuss and debate how to:

• Meet the needs of patients & effectively compete—Hear what consumers are expecting in a reformed delivery systems. Discuss how to attract and retain patients.
• Develop integrated delivery system—Discuss how to design and implement integrated delivery systems. Hear how member hospitals have successfully developed integrated models of care.
• Improve quality and meet quality mandates—Hear from experts what quality of care metrics will be required. Hear how members are successfully meeting these guidelines. Discuss the type of organizational culture that stimulates quality improvement.

Part II - NAPH Fall Legislative Event
Be a part of national health reform! Join public hospital leaders and supporters from across the country in Washington, DC and take part in the creation of historic health care legislation. Congress is actively working to reform health care by addressing coverage, cost and quality. However, the impact on safety net hospitals is unknown – some policies under consideration would strengthen the safety net; others could be harmful. Your members of Congress need to hear from you about the importance of protecting and strengthening safety net hospitals and the patients they serve.
