The University of Kansas Hospital
The University of Kansas Hospital is a 550-bed tertiary hospital located near the Kansas-Missouri state line, serving a diverse patient mix that represents individuals from multiple socioeconomic, cultural, and racial populations. Founded in 1906, the hospital has been governed by a Public Authority Board of Directors since October 1998 and maintains a strong commitment to the citizens of Kansas. The Board works diligently to ensure the hospital provides the safest possible care and best outcomes for all patients. The hospital has nationally accredited programs in Trauma, Burn, Rehabilitation Medicine, Cancer, Stroke and Laboratory Services. In 2006, the hospital received Magnet Accreditation through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
