
The 2009 NAPH Annual Conference was held June 25 and 26 in Seattle, Washington. More than 150 members attended the conference that focused on how to “Strengthen the Safety Net through Reform.” At the conference, lively discussions and debates focused on how delivery system reform fits into the current health reform debate. Plenary speakers and breakout sessions explored the ingredients for true delivery system reform including paying for performance, using integrated delivery systems, effective uses of information technology, improving patient satisfaction, managing readmissions, meeting the demand for primary care, managing chronic care, and the role of boards and leaders in transforming care. During the conference members who won Safety Net Awards were honored.
