Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit Fund

Kaiser Permanente’s Community Benefit Fund has been a major supporter of NAPH’s quality improvement agenda. Through a generous grant to the National Public Health and Hospital Institute (NPHHI), NAPH’s research affiliate, the Community Benefit Fund has supported NAPH’s leadership role around quality and performance improvement for safety net hospitals and health systems. The Community Benefit fund also provides a generous grant for NAPH members to attend quality and performance improvement courses offered by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI).

12 NAPH Members Chosen - Kaiser Permanente National Performance Improvement Program

12 of 17 positions in Kaiser Permanente’s new Performance Improvement Program were awarded to NAPH members for 2012. NAPH members were selected for the level of clarity and specificity in their project ideas, as well as the team approach that executives and their improvement advisors took in submitting their applications.

Positions in two specific, integrated programs were reserved specifically for safety net professionals. NAPH members will participate in the following:

The Performance Improvement Leadership Program
Designed for organizational leaders and executives heading high-level improvement strategy. The 6- to 8-month experience includes a one-day, in-person session, webinars and online modules.

Improvement Institute

After a 6-month period, participants who complete their projects will be eligible to graduate as an Improvement Advisor.
