
October is
Patient-Centered Care Awareness Month – a global campaign initiated by
Planetree to commemorate our industry’s progress toward the reality of patient-centered care and to build momentum for further success. This year’s theme – Building Patient Confidence – is reflected widely in the case studies we have chosen to highlight in preparation for this monthlong celebration. As demonstrated by these articles, NAPH members are strengthening their patient and family centered practices and empowering patients to be partners in their care. Oftentimes drawing from personal experiences, our members are defining new strategies and recreating old ones to change their hospital cultures.
