NAPH Supports House TriCaucus Bill to Reduce Health Disparities - July 7, 2009
Just before the July 4 recess, Rep. Donna Christensen [D-V.I.], on behalf of the Congressional Black, Hispanic, and Asian and Pacific Islander Caucuses, introduced the Health Equity and Accountability Act of 2009 (H.R. 3090). NAPH joined numerous organizations in sending a letter of support to Congress asking that the House incorporate the bill's provisions, which include expansion of reimbursement for language services and elimination of the Medicaid and CHIP eligibility bar for all lawful immigrant adults and all children and pregnant women, in the health reform bill.
