Six New States Launch Medicaid EHR Programs This Month - October 18, 2011

The Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program launched in six new states on Oct. 3: California, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Utah and Vermont. Eligible hospitals and eligible professionals (EPs) in these six states will now be able to complete their incentive program registration at the state level and receive incentive payments. As of Oct. 3, 33 states have now launched Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs. Also, through September 2011, 22 states have issued incentive payments to Medicaid eligible hospitals and EPs who have adopted, implemented or upgraded certified EHR technology.
