NAPH Issues New Paper on the Impact of the Recession - September 8, 2009

NAPH released its second paper on the role of safety net hospitals during the economic recession. This paper identifies substantial increases in visits by uninsured patients in both inpatient and outpatient departments at safety net hospitals nationwide. The report also shows increases in the number of new Medicaid patients receiving care at safety net hospitals and higher-than-average Medicaid utilization.
