NAPH Members Awarded Health Quality Improvement Grants - September 14, 2009

Two NAPH members—Truman Medical Center Hospital Hill in Missouri and Harborview Medical Center in Washington—have been selected to participate in two new quality initiatives of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Aligning Forces for Quality program. The first initiative, the Language Quality Improvement Collaborative, will identify and test strategies for hospitals to improve language services provided to patients with limited English proficiency. The second initiative, the Equity Quality Improvement Collaborative, will identify and address racial and ethnic disparities in cardiac care, with an emphasis on African-American and Hispanic patients. NAPH applauds Truman and Harborview for this honor. Their participation in these innovative programs is a testament to the commitment long-demonstrated by NAPH members to improve quality, access and outcomes for all patients.
