HHS Announces $250 Million to Strengthen Primary Care Workforce - June 22, 2010

On June 16, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced $250 million worth of investments authorized under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to strengthen the primary care workforce. As part of the funds, HHS announced $168 million to be awarded under the Primary Care Residency Expansion Program (the Program), which will provide grants to approximately 105 primary care residency programs at $80,000 per resident per year, minus authorized Program expenses (including indirect costs).
