HHS Announces $473 Million in Funding to Support Patient-Centered Outcomes Research - October 12, 2010
On September 30, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality announced that it would award $437 million in grants and contracts for projects focused on patient-centered outcomes research. The funding, made available under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, will go to various research institutions to evaluate the effectiveness of medical treatments and ultimately to help individuals make more informed decisions on their therapy options.
