NAPH Pleased to Announce Barbara Eyman as NAPH General Counsel - November 1, 2011

NAPH is pleased to announce that long-time NAPH counsel Barbara Eyman, J.D., will become NAPH general counsel, effective November 1, 2011. Eyman has resigned as a partner of the law firm of Ropes and Gray and has launched Eyman Associates. She will be assuming the position of NAPH general counsel on a part-time basis, as she will also continue to represent individual NAPH members and other clients in federal and state Medicaid, CHIP and health reform matters. Sarah Mutinsky, J.D., M.P.H., will join Barbara at her new firm and assume the role of NAPH’s deputy general counsel.

“Sarah and I look forward to the continued work with NAPH and its members,” said Eyman. “I am excited about this opportunity, and I am hopeful that our direct relationship with NAPH will be invaluable to the association and its members.”

"NAPH is excited to be able to draw more directly on Barbara's substantial experience and outstanding skills as we confront a complex legislative and policy environment. At the same time, NAPH clearly treasures the long experience and important contributions of Larry Gage, Charlie Luband and their firm," said NAPH President and CEO Bruce Siegel, M.D., M.P.H., "We will continue to have a relationship with them, and we look forward to their ongoing valuable support for NAPH and for Barbara."

"Barbara's transition from Ropes and Gray has been completely amicable and carefully planned," said NAPH Founder and Former President Larry Gage. "Following my retirement from NAPH this summer, it became clear that NAPH's need for legal and policy representation would change, and this move is clearly in NAPH's best interest moving forward. Charlie Luband and I will remain with Ropes and Gray, and our firm will continue to work closely with Barbara and support NAPH and its members in any way we can."

Beginning today, Barbara Eyman can be contacted at beyman@eymanlaw.com and Sarah Mutinsky can be contacted at smutinsky@eymanlaw.com.
