NAPH Cosponsoring National HIT and Delivery System Transformation Summit in DC - April 6, 2011
Health information technology (HIT) and delivery system reform go hand in hand. In fact, to truly improve quality of care and reform the delivery system, HIT – specifically an electronic health record – is a critical element. To discuss this partnership between HIT and delivery reform further, NAPH is cosponsoring the National HIT and Delivery System Transformation Summit this summer in Washington, DC. The summit, which will take place June 27-28, will focus on aligning HIT with delivery system reforms, including critical care coordination models like accountable care organizations and medical homes. Featured speakers include Aaron McKethan, director of the Beacon Communities Program in the Office of the National Coordinator for HIT, and Dr. Ruben Amarasingham from NAPH member Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas, Texas. A full list of speakers as well as an overview of the topics that will be covered during the summit can be found at http://www.healthitanddeliverysystemtransformation.com. The agenda for the summit is still being compiled. Members interested in submitting a speaker proposal should contact NAPH’s Xiaoyi Huang, assistant vice president for policy, at 202-585-0127 or xhuang@naph.org.
