Modern Healthcare recognizes NAPH CEO, members for leadership - May 11, 2011

NAPH’s Chief Executive Officer Bruce Siegel, MD, was recently named to this year’s “50 Most Influential Physician Executives in Healthcare,” a list co-sponsored annually by Modern Healthcare and Modern Physician. Readers of both publications submitted more than 11,700 nominations in November 2010 and then voted for one of 100 physician executives who made the final ballot in January. The 50 physicians who received the most votes made the final list. Physicians employed by the federal government or public health organizations dominated this year, with Dr. Richard Gilfillan, acting director of the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation topping the list. NAPH member Dr. Patricia Gabow, CEO of Denver Health, earned the number 16 spot. Congratulations are also in order for three other NAPH members recognized this year: Dr. Ron Anderson, president and CEO of Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas; Dr. Jennifer Daley, executive vice president and chief operating officer of UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass.; and Dr. Stephanie Hall, chief medical officer at LAC+USC Medical Center in Los Angeles.
