HHS Announces Program to Recognize HAI Achievements - January 4, 2011

The Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of Healthcare Quality announced an awards program to recognize providers that achieve excellence in preventing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).

According to HHS’ announcement, “Applicants must be a unit, hospital, team, enterprise, or healthcare system…that provides care for critically ill patients and has at least one team member who belongs to one of the CCSC member organizations (American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, and Society of Critical Care Medicine).” Applications for the awards are due January 29, 2011.
