HRSA Issues Draft Guidance Modifying Health Center Governance Requirements - October 5, 2009

HRSA has issued a draft Policy Information Notice (PIN) clarifying and modifying governance requirements for all health center grantees and FQHC Look-Alikes, including modifications to governing board requirements for public centers under co-applicant arrangements, and implementing changes to governance waivers. These changes will take effect upon finalization of the guidance and will apply to both new and existing centers. We encourage members with centers to review their governance structures in light of this new guidance, as HRSA will expect modifications to existing arrangements as necessary to comply with the updated policies. Comments on this draft PIN should be submitted via email to OPPDGeneral@hrsa.gov by close of business October 26, 2009.
