HHS Announces $83.9 Million in HIT Awards - June 9, 2010

On June 3, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced that HHS will award 45 grants, totaling $83.9 million, to health centers around the country to adopt new or enhanced electronic health records and other health information technology (HIT) systems. The grants are part of $2 billion set aside under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to expand health care services to low-income and uninsured individuals.
