HHS Releases $13.4 Million in Nurse Loan Repayment Assistance - August 14, 2009

HHS announced the award of $13.4 million in loan repayments for nurses who agree to practice in facilities with nursing shortages for two years and for schools of nursing to provide loans to students who will become nurse faculty. The awards, which were funded with monies provided under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), were distributed through the Health Resources Services Administration’s Nurse Education Loan Repayment Program (NELRP) ($8.1 million) and the Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP) ($5.3 million).
