HHS Awards Additional HIT Grants to States - March 17, 2010
On March 15, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Katherine Sebelius and National Coordinator for Health Information Technology David Blumenthal, M.D., announced $162 million in grants authorized under the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act. The grants to states and qualified state-designated entities are part of the State Health Information Exchange Cooperative Agreement Program, for the development of information exchange initiatives that will help providers become meaningful users of health IT.
