HHS Announces $100 Million in State Awards for Children’s Health Care Innovations - March 2, 2010

On February 22, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced awards totaling $100 million to 10 programs to improve health care quality and delivery systems for children enrolled in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The programs are either single-state projects or multi-state collaborations, covering 18 states. The grants will fund a variety of efforts, including programs to implement new sets of child health quality measures and to develop health information technology strategies. The grants are funded under the Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009, and will be disbursed over a period of five years.
