HHS Announces Awards to Improve Hospital Preparedness and Emergency Response - July 14, 2010

On July 7, the U.S. Department of Health an Human Services (HHS) announced that it will award $390.5 million grants to states, territories, and metropolitan areas to help hospitals and other health care organizations be better prepared for emergencies. The grants, authorized under the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act of 2006, are intended to give hospitals the tools they need to respond to the public health and medical impacts of any disaster, whether natural or man-made.
