HHS Announces $9 Million in Grants for Preventive Medicine Residency Programs - August 2, 2010

On July 23, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced that it was awarding grants totaling $9 million to 15 residency programs at accredited schools of public health, medical schools, and hospitals. The funds will be used to support preventive medicine residency programs, and are expected to provide financial aid for 56 residents. $6.7 million will come from funds appropriated under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and the remaining $2.4 million are from regular HHS appropriations.
