GAO Announces New Appointments to MedPAC - June 7, 2011
The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on May 31 announced the appointment of two new members to the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC), who will serve until 2014. The new members are:
• Willis D. Gradison, Jr., MBA, a scholar in residence at the Health Sector Management Program at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business
• William J. Hall, MD, a geriatrician and medical professor at the University of Rochester School of Medicine.
In addition to the new appointments, the GAO has reappointed three individuals:
• Peter W. Butler, MHSA, president and chief operating officer of Rush University Medical Center
• Michael Chernew, PhD, professor of health care policy at Harvard Medical School
• George N. Miller, Jr., MHSA, chief operating officer of First Diversity Management Group and managing partner of First Diversity Healthcare Group.
Their terms also will expire in 2014.
