Federal District Judge Rules ACA Constitutional - February 24, 2011
A federal district judge in the District of Columbia dismissed a case questioning the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) this week, finding that the law’s individual mandate is constitutional. This is the fifth federal district court to rule on the law and the third to find that it does not violate the constitution. Two other district judges have found the law is unconstitutional. The issue is likely to be taken up by the Supreme Court in 2012.
