HRSA to Hold Meeting Regarding Designation of MUPs/HPSAs - September 15, 2010

On September 7, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) announced that it would convene its Negotiated Rulemaking Committee on Designation of Medically Underserved Populations (MUPs) and Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs). The meeting, which will span several days, will include an orientation to the negotiated rulemaking process, ground rules for Committee operations, and an overview of key topics to explore as part of the development of an Interim Final Rule regarding MUPs and HPSAs, as required by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The meeting will be held September 22-24 at the Legacy Hotel, 1775 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD, and is open to the public.
