Department of Labor Announces Health Care Workforce Training Grants - July 24, 2009
The Department of Labor (DOL) has released $125 million in Recovery Act grants to support projects that train and prepare workers for careers in the health care industry. DOL is seeking applications for funding for nursing, allied health, long-term care, and health information technology training programs that combine occupational and skills training and result in a certificate or degree. Public and private nonprofit entities are eligible to compete for the funds. The Department anticipates awarding approximately 50 grants, each of which will range from $2 to $5 million.
