NQF Seeks Nominations for Steering Committee, Technical Advisory Panels - June 7, 2011

The National Quality Forum (NQF) seeks nominations for a multi-stakeholder Steering Committee and Technical Advisory Panels (TAPs) for a project to endorse new and prior patient safety measures applicable to public reporting and quality improvement. To expand beyond the hospital setting and standardize across care settings, solicited measures will also address environment-specific issues. The Steering Committee will be comprised of 21 individuals who draft a report recommending new and renewed measures for consensus standards. Specific clinical expertise is required in some areas. Knowledge of specific healthcare environments is also desirable. TAPs will work with NQF staff to provide technical evaluation of the measures against NQF’s standard measure evaluation criteria. The Steering Committee and TAPs meet once in Washington, DC, and hold several conference calls throughout the year. The deadline for nominations is Friday, July 1, 201l. If you are interested in having your name submitted by NAPH for either of these opportunities, or have additional questions, please contact Jane Hooker at jhooker@naph.org.
