CMS Seeks Comments on Legislative Changes to Provide Quality Care to Children - August 2, 2010

On July 30, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published a notice with comments seeking stakeholder input on legislative changes that could provide better quality of care to children through Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program. Under the Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009, the Secretary of Health and Human Services must submit recommendations to Congress by January 1, 2011 on types of legislation to improve children’s quality of care. Comments from stakeholders, which may be helpful as the Secretary drafts such recommendations, are due by August 30.
