CMS Releases Third Quarter Fiscal Year 2009 Enhanced FMAP - August 10, 2009

On August 4, CMS released the enhanced federal medical assistance percentage (FMAP) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) for the third quarter of FY 2009 beginning April 1, 2009 and ending June 30, 2009.  State FMAP rates may have increased due to increasing unemployment conditions in the state.  CMS will continue to publish FMAP rates on a quarterly basis through the end of the recession adjustment period on December 31, 2010.  The state-by-state FMAP rates and the methodology for calculating them are available at by clicking here.
