Bipartisan Summit Keeps Health Reform Debate Alive - February 17, 2010

The White House will host Congressional leaders from both parties in a health care summit on February 25. The Administration has announced it will propose its own legislation—likely modeled on the bills passed by the House and Senate—in advance of the summit, and is encouraging congressional Republicans to do the same. Observers are questioning what the summit may mean for the prospects of passing comprehensive health reform legislation this year. NAPH has communicated its priorities to senior White House advisors, and is encouraging hospitals represented by congressional leaders to contact their lawmakers in advance of the summit.
