ONC Requests New Applications for Beacon Community Cooperative Agreement Program - June 2, 2010

On May 26, the Office of the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology (ONC) released a new funding opportunity announcement requesting applications for two Beacon Community Cooperative Agreement awards, totaling $30.3 million. The Beacon awards will go to help two communities build and expand their health information technology infrastructure and serve as models for other communities around the nation. The two new Beacon awards are in addition to the 15 grants awarded earlier in May. Interested parties must submit a letter of intent by Wednesday, June 9, and a completed application by Monday, June 28. ONC will post a transcript of a June 1 technical assistance call regarding the Beacon awards at http://healthit.hhs.gov.
